…The San Francisco Giants have been on a roll lately and while they lead the National League Wild Card race, they have their sights set on the the National League West lead. Barry Zito allowed four hits and two runs while striking out 10 in seven innings of work to not factor in the decision as Javier Lopez got his third win of the year and Brian Wilson picked up his 32nd save of the season. Andres Torres and pat Burrell both had two hits, the only hits the Giants were able to muster but it was enough to get the win. The win leaves the Giants just a game behind the San Diego Padres in the NL West and it was the Giants seventh in their last 10 games. For Saturday’s game San Francisco starts Matt Cain who has won his last three decisions. For the season Cain has allowed 120 hits and 50 earned runs while striking out 113 in 151 innings of work.
Atlanta is 21-7 in their last 28 games against a right-handed starter, 37-15 in their last 52 home games, 7-2 in Hudson’s last nine home starts, and 10-3 in their last…
